REDMAGIC 12 Pro+ Launches October 15: Confirmed Specs, Cooling and Global 12 Pro Teaser

REDMAGIC 12 Pro+ gaming phone featuring Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme processor, 144Hz AMOLED display, and active turbo cooling fan.

REDMAGIC has confirmed an October 15, 2026 China launch for the REDMAGIC 12 Pro+, while a fresh global teaser points to a REDMAGIC 12 Pro release outside China. The important distinction is that the China launch date is confirmed, but REDMAGIC has not yet announced a global launch date, global price, memory configurations or the complete retail specification sheet.

What is confirmed so far

  • REDMAGIC 12 Pro+ launches in China on October 15, 2026 at 2:30 PM local time.
  • The phone uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 platform.
  • REDMAGIC has teased a new ICE Magic cooling system combining an active fan with built-in liquid/water cooling.
  • The display design uses an under-display front camera and extremely narrow 0.96mm bezels.
  • A separate global teaser uses the REDMAGIC 12 Pro name, but does not yet provide a global release date.
  • A pre-launch Geekbench 7 result exists, but one prototype benchmark should not be treated as proof of sustained retail-device performance.

Why the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 matters

Qualcomm announced the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 on September 22 and explicitly named RedMagic among the brands preparing devices with its new flagship platforms. Qualcomm says the Extreme chip uses its Oryon CPU with two prime cores reaching up to 5GHz, a redesigned Adreno GPU with Neural Fusion, a Hexagon NPU, an X105 5G modem-RF system and FastConnect 8800.

Those platform capabilities establish what the silicon can support; they do not prove that every optional feature will be enabled on the REDMAGIC phone. For a broader explanation of Qualcomm’s new lineup, see PhoneSpecX’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 vs Extreme explainer.

Cooling may be the more important gaming story

Peak benchmark numbers are only one part of gaming performance. REDMAGIC’s own product positioning has long emphasized active cooling, and the company is now teasing an updated ICE Magic system with an active fan and built-in liquid cooling. The engineering question is whether that system can keep the new Snapdragon platform close to its peak clocks during longer gaming sessions without excessive surface temperature or fan noise.

That distinction matters because a short CPU benchmark and a 20- or 30-minute game workload stress a phone differently. PhoneSpecX has previously examined the difference between peak and sustained results in the REDMAGIC 11S Pro benchmark analysis.

What the early Geekbench result does and does not show

A pre-launch REDMAGIC 12 Pro+ prototype identified in reporting as model NX819J recorded 3,677 single-core and 12,679 multi-core points in Geekbench 7. That is useful evidence that development hardware is running the new flagship Qualcomm platform, but it is not a review result.

Firmware, thermal limits, background processes and benchmark versions can all affect scores. More importantly, a single run cannot establish sustained gaming speed, battery efficiency, thermal comfort or retail-unit consistency. Those questions require repeatable testing after commercial hardware is available.

Global REDMAGIC 12 Pro teaser: what it actually confirms

On October 6, reporting based on REDMAGIC’s verified global social account highlighted the message “PROJECT_12_PRO LOADING…”. That is meaningful evidence that a global REDMAGIC 12 Pro is being prepared, but it is not yet a full launch announcement.

The naming also deserves care. REDMAGIC has previously used different China and global naming for closely related hardware, so it is plausible that the Chinese 12 Pro+ will form the basis of the global 12 Pro. Until REDMAGIC publishes the global specification and pricing pages, however, differences in battery, charging, memory or other hardware should remain unconfirmed rather than copied from the China model.

Design changes could matter for everyday use

REDMAGIC’s teasers have emphasized a lighter, slimmer and more rounded device, with 0.96mm display bezels and another generation of under-display camera technology. That direction is notable for a gaming phone because active cooling and large batteries normally make weight and thickness difficult to reduce.

The tradeoff cannot be judged yet. Exact dimensions, weight and battery capacity were not established by the reviewed confirmed material, so any claim that the new model is dramatically lighter or offers a specific battery size would be premature.

What buyers should wait for on October 15

The launch should answer the details that matter most for a purchase decision: final battery capacity, wired and wireless charging, display size and refresh behavior, camera hardware, RAM/storage options, dimensions, weight, China pricing and the exact cooling implementation. Global buyers should additionally wait for official regional bands, warranty coverage, pricing and availability rather than assuming the Chinese configuration will be identical.

FAQs

When does the REDMAGIC 12 Pro+ launch?

REDMAGIC has confirmed a China launch for October 15, 2026 at 2:30 PM local time.

Is the REDMAGIC 12 Pro launching globally?

A global REDMAGIC teaser uses the 12 Pro name, so a global release is being prepared. A global launch date and market list had not been announced in the evidence reviewed on October 6.

Which processor does the REDMAGIC 12 Pro+ use?

The confirmed platform is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6.

Are the leaked battery and charging specifications confirmed?

No. Several reports circulate battery and charging figures, but this article does not treat them as final because the reviewed official launch evidence has not yet established the complete retail specification sheet.

Do the early Geekbench scores prove gaming performance?

No. They are useful pre-launch CPU benchmark evidence, but they do not establish sustained gaming performance, thermal behavior, battery life or final retail performance.
